Shayna Strom is currently working on Judiciary Committee issues for Senator Al Franken. She has an M.Sc. from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. While at law school, she worked for the Service Employees International Union, for Senator Kennedy on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, and for Barack Obama's Senate policy director, helping to write the 2008 Democratic platform. Before attending law school, Shayna spent several years as an organizer with community, political, and labor groups in Ohio, New York, and New Jersey. In her spare time, Shayna was also a senior editor of The Next American City (http://americancity.org), a national magazine magazine about cities.
